Raw airs tonight (Dec. 16) with a live show from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. This is the third episode of Raw during the nine week build towards Royal Rumble 2025, which takes place on February 1.
Raw’s debut episode on Netflix is coming up in three weeks, and the pro wrestling rumor mill indicates that WWE plans to “come in nuclear hot” by booking CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins on that card. This is a potential WrestleMania main event we’re talking about here, so WWE isn’t screwing around. On last week’s episode, CM had a relaxed sit-down interview backstage where he described Seth as a second string quarterback who can go take a seat because the starter is back. Seth was pissed off enough by Punk’s remarks that he responded in the ring by calling CM a fraud.
Rollins claimed that Punk ghosted everyone in WWE, including all of his friends there, when he walked out of the company back in 2014. After Punk spent years trashing the company, the only reason he came back in 2023 is because he failed at everything else he tried, he burned every other bridge along the way, and the money was right. Damn, those are some fightin’ words from Seth right there, and they sting even more because there’s a lot of truth to his summary of Punk’s hypocrisy. WWE says Punk will be live on Raw tonight to respond to what Rollins said about him. If a match between CM and Seth is really planned for the move to Netflix on January 6, then Punk will be coming in hot looking to go nuclear on The Visionary. WWE also says Seth will appear live on Raw tonight, so all the ingredients are in place for there to be a big explosion.
Finn Balor had a disappointing weekend when he failed to win the World heavyweight championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event. But things might get even worse for Finn tonight, because GM Adam Pearce has granted the War Raiders a rematch against the Judgment Day for the World tag team championship. WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker defends his belt tonight against Ludwig Kaiser. Breakker recently said GUNTHER’s stock is falling and advised Kaiser to ditch him, for what it’s worth. The New Day was booed out of the building last week because most people think they are assholes for kicking Big E to the curb.
