Dynamite airs tonight (Apr. 2) with a live show from Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. This is the final episode of Dynamite during the four week build towards AEW Dynasty, which takes place on Sunday (Apr. 6).
According to the data at CageMatch, this is actually Marina’s first match on AEW programming since December 2023, so she finally gets to join in on the Death Riders’ fun in an official capacity. However, this is also the go home show for Sunday’s Dynasty pay-per-view, where Strickland challenges Moxley for the gold. I would normally expect the babyface to stand tall tonight, but I don’t think Shafir is taking the fall in her first official match in AEW as a Death Rider. Tune into Dynamite tonight to see if Marina follows through on her deadly threat and to see if Swerve can send a scary message of his own to the champ ahead of their pay-per-view match. AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm has a tune-up match against Penelope Ford, just days a way from defending her gold at Dynasty against Megan Bayne. Storm was so distraught about being pinned by Bayne in last week’s tag team match that she has vowed to rip off Megan’s tits and put them in her purse.
Adam “Cope” Copeland vs. Claudio Castagnoli is booked on Dynamite. Claudio wants revenge after Cope recently injured him with a conchairto, whereas Cope is trying to get momentum going in Rated FTR’s direction before they challenge the Death Riders for the AEW world trios championship. Cope is the favorite, but you never know when Dax Harwood might make an appearance and accidentally screw everything up. The official brackets for this year’s men and women’s Owen Hart Tournament will be revealed during tonight’s broadcast. The winners receive a world title match at AEW’s biggest show of the year, All In Texas, in July. Some of the known entrants thus far include Will Ospreay, Jay White, Hangman Page, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, Billie Starkz, and Jamie Hayter. Finally, Will Ospreay returns to Dynamite, where he may have a chance to cut a promo on his first round opponent in the Owen Hart tournament.
