Raw airs tonight (Dec. 2) with a live show from Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington. This is the first episode of Raw during the nine week build towards Royal Rumble 2025, which takes place on February 1.
The New Day’s 10-year anniversary celebration takes place on tonight’s episode of Raw. This should be a top highlight in the careers of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, but it instead looks like the group could actually break up. Kingston and Woods have not been able to snap out of their recent slump, and they hit rock bottom last week when they lost against Akira Tozawa and Otis. Kofi and Xavier had a very intense argument about it afterwards where they each took shots at the other’s biggest failures, such as Woods not being good enough to win singles gold in WWE, or Kofi pissing away his WWE championship reign to Brock Lesnar in six seconds. They ended the verbal fight by agreeing to see each other in the ring tonight for tonight’s celebration, which makes it seem like they probably haven’t spoken since.
The idea that New Day might break up during this 10-year anniversary celebration has been rumored in recent months, especially with Xavier embracing more heel tactics in his matches during that time. Last week’s angle leaned into a possible breakup so heavily that it’s probably the expected outcome at this point. However, there’s one man who can prevent the worst case scenario from playing out. You can’t have a New Day anniversary celebration without Big E, so he’ll have to be involved in this segment. Nobody exemplifies the New Day’s message about the power of positivity better than E, which means he will have to work his magic on Kofi and Xavier to keep the New Day from falling apart tonight.
CM Punk is in the building and will kick off tonight’s show. The Women’s Intercontinental championship tournament begins with a 3-way match of Dakota Kai vs. Katana Chance vs. Shayna Baszler. Damage CTRL vs. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez is also booked on Raw. IYO SKY is challenging Morgan for the Women’s world championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and she’ll try to keep the momentum going tonight after her team beat Liv’s team at War Games. While Rhea Ripley waits to see whether Liv Morgan or IYO SKY walks out of Saturday Night’s Main Event as champion, Maybe both! It sounds like Bronson Reed is questionable for the next few weeks after attempting a Tsunami splash off the top of the cage at War Games.
