Raw airs tonight (Jan. 20) with a live show from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This is the eighth episode of Raw during the nine week build towards Royal Rumble 2025, which takes place on February 1. Last week’s episode of Raw began with CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre arguing as each man made it clear that he intends to win the Royal Rumble match. It looked a like a big fight was about to break out between them until Drew backed off and said he has the bigger picture in mind about stopping Roman Reigns from regaining the Undisputed WWE championship.
Drew called out Seth for not doing anything to hurt Roman’s chance to win Tribal Combat on Raw’s Netflix debut. He insulted Seth for losing to CM Punk that same night, and said Rollins is no really no different from CM aside from the fact that Punk is at least willing to admit he’s a piece of shit. Those are fighting words, and that’s exactly what Drew and Seth will do tonight when they face each other in a rematch from last year’s WrestleMania. However, Drew forgot to mention that he also lost on Raw’s Netflix debut when he came up short against Jey Uso. That means either Rollins or McIntyre will start off the Netflix era of Raw as a big loser with an 0-2 record, depending on the outcome of this match. One way for both men to avoid that fate is for there to be a no contest because things get out of control with either Punk or other outside parties running in to ruin the finish. Tune into Raw tonight to see this WrestleMania rematch and find out which one of WWE’s top stars can’t hack it on Netflix just yet.
Dakota Kai & IYO Sky are coming for revenge against Pure Fusion Collective, who injured Kairi Sane during the women’s Intercontinental championship tournament. WWE is calling it a “tag team grudge match,” but has yet to specify which two members of PFC will be in the fight. WWE Hall of Famer JBL is scheduled for an appearance tonight in Dallas. Sami Zayn is going to “address the WWE Universe” during tonight’s broadcast. Zayn was about to ask General Manager Adam Pearce for something last week before he was rudely interrupted by The Miz and Karrion Kross. WWE says Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria “returns to Raw” tonight, even though she was on last week’s episode and even won championship gold. Jey Uso will also be on Raw to talk about his match against World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
