WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 38 kicks off the promotion’s 2025 PLE schedule in stunning fashion. The event takes place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, and it is set to take place on Saturday, January 25th. In the U.S., it is available to watch on NBC and Peacock and internationally on Netflix and YouTube in some regions.
The event is set to begin at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. At the time of writing, four matches have been confirmed for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card, with three of them being title fights. Being over 173 days into his reign, Gunther is already the second-longest reigning champion in the World Heavyweight Championship’s short lineage. This is a reign that Gunther will certainly be looking to keep going, as it establishes his dominance and superiority in the WWE. Uso has done well in his singles run, and he even had a brief run with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Now, he challenges for the top gold on Raw but this will not be an easy feat. Between Uso’s speed and Gunther’s hard-hitting, aggressive style, this should make for quite an intriguing main event.
Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax have had bouts in the past but this seems to have something different to it. They have often found themselves in multi-person tag team matches but they have had at least two singles matches. Those will serve as the foundation for what could be their best clash yet. Ripley has just settled into her second reign as the Women’s World Champion, following her lengthy feud with Liv Morgan, but she faces a formidable challenge now. Jax is the former WWE Women’s Champion and, coming off of the betrayal by Miss Money in the Bank turned champion Tiffany Stratton, she is instead shifting her focus to claiming a different title. The title will be the top prize in this bout, however, the fight is bigger than it altogether.
Sheamus has accomplished so much in his tenured WWE career but the Intercontinental Championship has evaded him. At this point, that is exactly what The Celtic Warrior has his eye on but the problem is a rather great one – the champion is Bron Breakker. Already a formidable champion, Breakker has brutalized all who dare to challenge him for the title but it has already been proven that he can be beaten. Jey Uso defeated Breakker to win the title before the latter reclaimed the gold. Sheamus, with the wealth of experience he has, could achieve that too, and this could even be quite a shock. Regardless of who walks away with the title, expect this to be the most brutal and intense affair on the Saturday Night’s Main Event 38 card.
Jacob Fatu very quickly became one of the top breakout stars of 2024 within WWE. In multi-man tag team matches, Fatu has consistently stolen the spotlight. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Fatu meets his match in Braun Strowman. Fatu and Strowman are some heavy Superstars, who will certainly cause the ring to be reinforced. This match is the perfect blend of heavyweight action and jaw-dropping agility. This is also the only match on the card without a title so they will just be pummeling each other for the hell of it, which always makes for a great showcase.
